Floe Edge Safari
Camp on the sea ice at the richest edge in the Arctic, narwhal, seals, and seabirds where the open water begins.
Auyuittuq · Baffin Island · Nunavut
Inuit-owned expeditions through Auyuittuq National Park and out to the floe edge, guided from Qikiqtarjuaq on the wild east coast of Baffin Island. Small groups. Born-here guides. The real Arctic.
The Floe Edge
Where the frozen sea breaks into open ocean, the entire Arctic comes to feed. Narwhal surface in pods. Polar bears patrol the ice. Seabirds wheel overhead and seals haul out in the sun.
We take you to the edge by snowmobile and qamutik, set camp on the sea ice, and wait with you for the moment the water moves, the way Inuit have read this coast for generations.

Expeditions 2026-2027
Every expedition is small, fully outfitted, and led by guides who were born on this land.
Camp on the sea ice at the richest edge in the Arctic, narwhal, seals, and seabirds where the open water begins.
By boat up the fjord into Auyuittuq, then on foot beneath Mount Asgard and Mount Thor through the Akshayuk Pass.
The classic Baffin wildlife voyage, narwhal pods and polar bears on the ice, under the midnight sun.
Run a traditional qamutik behind the dogs by day; chase the northern lights across the ice by night.
Born on this coast
Nunavut Experience Outfitting is Inuit-owned and run from Qikiqtarjuaq. The big southern companies fly in for a season, we've read this ice our whole lives. When you travel with us, your money stays in the community, and your guide grew up on the land you're standing on.
That's the difference between seeing the Arctic and being welcomed into it.
